Who we are

Galena Data ("Galena", "we") operates galenadata.com, a marketplace that helps companies turn archives they own into rights-cleared, anonymized AI training data. This policy covers this website. Datasets listed or sold through the marketplace are governed by separate written agreements with sellers and buyers.

What this site collects

We keep the site itself deliberately minimal:

• No account system, and no advertising or analytics cookies.
• Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested pages) to serve and secure the site.
• Fonts are self-hosted on our own infrastructure; viewing the site sends no font requests to third parties.
• The valuation and buyer-access forms send what you submit to our inbox (relayed by our email delivery provider) so we can respond to your request.
• If you email us, we receive what you send.

How we use information

We use the information above to respond to inquiries, evaluate prospective listings and buyer requests, operate and secure the site, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information collected through this website, and we do not use it for advertising.

Marketplace data is different, and more protected

Our entire product is consent-first data handling. Datasets never move through this website: they are exchanged under written agreements, cleared for rights and consent, and anonymized before any buyer sees a sample. Details are in each listing agreement.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers that run our infrastructure (hosting, forms, email), when required by law, or in a corporate transaction such as a merger, never for third-party marketing.

Retention

Inquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business records, then deleted. Server logs are retained per our hosting provider’s standard rotation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR, LGPD, and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Write to us and we will honor applicable requests.
